Individual Therapy
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
― Viktor E. Frankl
Sometimes,
it can be difficult
to manage
your stress
or painful emotions.
Psychotherapy is a process of exploration and self-discovery that unfolds in the unique space between client and therapist. My hope is that our work together will provide a path for you to discover an enhanced sense of well-being, the ability to connect more deeply with those you love, and the capacity to live more fully in the present moment.
I specialize in helping individuals through times of life transition and change.
We heal from pain, trauma and loss by taking time to focus on what has remained unspoken, sharing our fears and yearnings with a trusted other, and attending to the meaning of our inner experience in the present moment. When we allow ourselves to feel fully, we discover that our most difficult moments often contain the seeds for our growth.
Through this journey, we often come to see ourselves in a new light, and we connect with the beauty, mystery and meaning of life in a new and unexpected way.
Moments of transition can be challenging and stressful, and are often accompanied by:
- anxiety, uncertainty and fear
- low self-esteem and poor self-image
- painful emotions such as anger, shame, sadness, and helplessness
- feelings of grief and loss
- periods of overwhelming emotion or limited awareness of feelings
- heightened sensitivity to criticism and rejection
- inability to self-comfort
- struggles with identity: not feeling whole, lacking a clear, stable sense of self, confusion about life goals
- problems with trust and intimacy in relationships
- a sense of isolation, alienation and difficulty connecting with others
I would love to talk to you about how I might be able to help you.
